I put up question marks on Bonner’s work rate without the ball on occasions I’ve seen him with the U21’s but after conceding yesterday he could be seen to putting in the hard yards helping the right full back defend.
I know some fans have a hard on for Dozzell right now but I would be very interested to see both Bonner and Aoraha with either Field or Colback being deemed as the holding player.
Both Bonner and Aoraha are more than capable of scoring regularly unlike Field Dozzell and Colback.
Before anyone says Colback has already scored 2 I know but highly likely not to happen again imo.

Was impressed by how vocal he was on pitch. Was literally pointing at more experienced players were to go loved seeing that.

thought he was very very good yesterday. young players tend to work their asses off in their first few starts but EDB didn't look out of place in the squad. ran all over the pitch, linked up well and almost scored. looking forward to seeing him play more.

Makes a huge difference to have someone who can step into the midfield when we have injuries and suspensions. I still believe we have good enough players to move up this table. If this lad steps up, it’s huge plus.
I’d say, outfield players:
Paal Canon Cooke Dunne JCS Field Colback Willock Chair
All very good or good enough at this level. Then add in Dixon-Bonner, Dozzell, Fox, Armstrong…..maybe Dykes and Richards(😀), that’s 15 players….almost looks like a squad…

What a fantastic young man. "We all felt together today." The Marti effect is only just beginning. I think the future is looking a lot brighter than I thought possible a few weeks ago and with players like Elijah, and others like Ryan Kolli and Aoraha in the wings, it can only get better. Vamos Rangers!

How well does he speak and come across. Very well indeed. Bit concerned about too many interviews like this though as it can add unnecessary pressure on a young player. Especially after only one good game. At least leave it for a while. Personally I'd prefer it if the media team held off and give the younger players more breathing space to grow and develop before putting cameras in their faces and asking for interviews. Just let their football do the talking for now.

Really impressed with the interview and his performance was spot on. Feels like a new signing doesn't it? Hopefully a lot more to come from him.

Interviews like this begs the question did Ainsworth really have the squad behind him at all? Edit: Did he really want to have them behind him.

Reading between the lines it’s pretty clear the squad feels relieved to not have to play 1950s agricultural football and have already warmed to the new boss. When he said “this is a style that suits a lot of the players” it’s criminal really that Ainsworth was allowed to carry on with that shit as long as he did. Dixon-bonner sounds intelligent and committed and v impressed by interview and performance

Three or four more games like that and they’ll be sniffing round him. Get him signed up long term, don’t be mugs.

Other than saying 'you know' every sentence, very good interview. Spoke really well you know, and I was impressed with how he, you know, gave massive respect to the backline and also, you know, Rotherham for how they play. Respectful, team player attitude and wanting more. You know.

has to start against norwich in place of colback surely? by all accounts marti likes a box to box midfielder as part of his 3 and EDB plays like that. lad is growing in confidence, hardworking, intelligent and great on the ball.
i think he has the potential to actually make it at this level. early days for sure but i rate him. get him tied down to a new deal and give him a run of starts.
a midfield 3 at their best of dozzell, field and EDB is a pretty great trio imo.

Agree100%. Field gets through so much work tidying things up - often unnoticed if one or two of the seats near me are anything to go by - and we are crying out for someone to make aggressive runs without everything going through Chair. Dozzell still leaves a lot to be desired but there have been signs of improvement. Bonner can arrive on the edge of the box and it would be an interesting combination.

Shame he never at least put that chance on edge of box on target yesterday but he was at least arriving late and when did we last have someone doing that.

I really like EDB. Given a good run of games I think we might have a real player there. I think he could get there under Marti, he seems to like him.

Nice that. Fair play. Defo a player in there. He gets about the pitch. Needs consistency now.
