Finally a player with good, positive attitude. That as important as ability given the sate we are in.

What was his song? Or the standard "one Dixon Bonner" song?

Has to start in the middle. And play regularly. Preferable alongside Colback. Should Colback ever turn up again. Like the look of him. Always looking for a forward pass. Good stand in right back too. Only downside is his tendency to complain at team mates. Saw at least two squabbles, with Chair and Smyth. Like his talking, but best take care in that regard.

Nice that. Fair play. Defo a player in there. He gets about the pitch. Needs consistency now. Shame he can't cross

Impressed by him today.
Certainly showed enough to say we should keep him IMHO.
Question is do we loan him out so he gets 40 games or with Hayden probably not here and Field and Coleback only two others in front of him does he get a crack at being a regular?

Field, Hayden, Colback all miles ahead of him.

Sorry, I meant to say that he is a polished and composed player. Plays with his head up and has a decent shot on him. The goals will come hopefully. (None as yet however).

It seems like, with the released list, the club are announcing one player per day. Drop feeding news each day is a good way to keep the fanbase interested during the close season.

Thought he sounded really humble on the website. The “right sort” that we used to bang on about.

Thought he sounded really humble on the website. The “right sort” that we used to bang on about. He interviews well. At the start of the season he spoke really well as well. Glad we kept him on, he's a good player. Prob not starting 11 but defo a good option.

Fair play happy with this. Was hit & miss last season IMO but there is a player in there & clearly Marti can see the potential.

What are folks' thoughts about this player for next season?
Without ever being blown away I like him.
The way he is happy to receive the ball even when surrounded by players impresses me and unlike Field and Colback he always looks to progress the ball.
Maybe just needs to toughen up a bit and develop a final ball?
I know its not ideal and I wouldn't call him a "10" by any stretch, but if we are unable to bring in a 10, with our current team, I wonder if Field and Varane holding with EDB in front of them and Ilias left and Andersen right behind Celar is now our best starting 11?
The danger for his development is he ends up with 5/ 10 starts and 15 sub appearances this season and he hasn't played enough to really break through - but is too useful / good to be sent out on loan.
And then we are left scratching our heads about him this time next year.
Personally hope he gets some game time and develops.

Think he is an effective squad player. Aside from suspensions or injuries can’t see him getting in ahead of the other midfielders.
Type of player who does not let you down but is not exceptional at anything which makes him stand out.
Think might be better touch higher up pitch. Few games I’ve thought there is player in him but he’s never taken game by the scruff of the neck

Usually composed on the ball. Shot is almost there, he was close a few times last season. Reasonable cautious distribution. Decent tackler. If his confidence and awareness grow, there is reason to hope he becomes a valuable contributor. (Please factor in my consistently irrational optimism)

Few games I’ve thought there is player in him but he’s never taken game by the scruff of the neck I can't really disagree with this. But do fear this leaves us with the problem I describe above, namely at the end of the coming season he hasn't quite established himself but he is pushing on in age and everyone turns round (like we did with Armstrong) and say "we should have loaned him out and got 40 games under his belt".

Think we’re going see what his role is as squad player. Plugs holes for cup games and when suspensions and injuries.
I don’t think he’s a bad player and he will do a job as squad player. If your him you got be thinking what do I need to do to shine and show gaffer I’m worthy of starting week in week out.

If your him you got be thinking what do I need to do to shine and show gaffer I’m worthy of starting week in week out. It would help if he puts the ball on frame and starts scoring. He does seem focused on error free football and safe distribution, but still does give aways. Hoping for that step up.
