Certainly not with the same skill levels. We seem to be undoing all the good work we did under Warbs and Beale and returning to Holloway-era honest battlers. Short term maybe it might make us a little more competitive to eek out some ugly points, but has the club abandoned its development strategy? If so, what's the game plan? If it does still want to develop players to sell, how does it propose to do that given the apparent transfer strategy? Is anyone signing off on Ainsworth's transfers? If so who? Are these decisions being made according to data analytics or is it back to the old boys club? Silence from the club on all this is deafening, and also tells its own story... Juxtaposed with the opening of a brand new state-of-the-art training facility. The two things seem completely antithetical. Spot on. That training ground would be really exciting under Beale or Warbs - or even Critchley - but with a management team with no track record of elite coaching its just like handing over a an F1 car to mr bean. Nothing at this club ever seems joined up. We had Warbs not working in tandem with the youth coaches. Now we have fantastic coaching facilities and no decent coaches. You couldn't make it up.

We do love a flap on here. Loads of time left in the window. Don't think next season will be pretty but I don't think it'll be as bad as many are predicting. titanic engineer said I don’t think it’s that bad, more of a scrape Tarbs you said that about Ainsworth He won 2 games in 15 no ? Just sayin mate but i like the positivity

Not quite… biggest single block of votes, yes, but not an overall majority. A total of 16 votes for staying up, 14 for relegation.

Christ Almighty!
Never seen quite so much negativity on here as we’ve had recently.
I’m choosing to back Gareth, the players he decides to keep and those he brings in.
I can only assume from reading the amount of vitriol aimed at him, that should we finish in the top half of what many appear to regard as an exceptionally strong Championship next season, then it will be regarded as a phenomenal achievement and testament to his management.
Surely they deserve a chance and our full backing until such time as they stoop to last season’s levels.

i've said it before and will say it again; i don't think it will be as bad as what people think.
we obviously have no money to spend. the board stupidly gambled last year on promotion and now we're suffering the consequences of that and likely will for a few years.
i wouldn't be surprised in the board view gaz as an ollie2.0. someone to come in, steady the ship and then move him on for a mcclaren type again.
it'll be rough at times for sure, august will be very rough imo but i think gaz will surprise a few people. no one can doubt his passion or belief in the club plus he has years of experience managing when he's an underdog who's up against it.

Ok, no one knows what is going to happen. Some are optimistic , a lot suicidal. But if u put bits together it not looking brilliant is it. But then again that’s way you could be looking at bits. It’s all opinions.

I watched the club deteriate from a top club
To a club that at present is embarressing
So many bad decisions for over ten years
And when you question it you get called negative
Someone needs to go in the boardroom
And devise a stratergy to generate more income
You can only shop in poundland for a while

For me there is not plenty of time.
Given we will probably be weaker than last season, its imperative we are together, organised and prepared for a tough season.
However it looks like we will follow the usual route ill prepared and a team of players who are like strangers.
Its not doom and gloom its reality,if we cant do this essential preparation i fear for us.

Can’t knock training ground. Should of had decent one for years mind. But all the look at kits, positive talk from manager about how fans are great etc. club saying never sold as many tckts etc, again last bit well done to u brave souls. But Christ sake it’s window dressings ina slaughter house. What folk want to see is players who excite , show a bit and a squad with a chance of competing. Not knew kits that most adults not going to buy. It’s like the saying happy wife happy life. Show punters a team trying, exciting etc and they happy. Show them shit , kits and patronising talk and they tear u a new one.

We need to have higher standards
Clubs that win cups do not win them by luck
They win them by having ambition and high standards

It’s like a once decent shop, then things change, they start selling off the best stock and replace with inferior goods. This goes on for a while but not sustainable as image is floundering and footfall drops as not attractive anymore. Eventually shop folds.
