Was trying to work out who Noses was before I scrolled up.
Moses was very good going forwards. Don't know what his wages were and obvs injuries were an issue but prob a player I would like to have retained if it were purely a footballing decision.

Unless I am dreaming I saw an X repost on one board last night saying Cannon has just been fined 1.2 million for tearing up his contract in Portugal without agreement from the club. I cannot find the post back at the moment.
If true this could go someway to explaining why he has not featured much and may question his whole future with us. I only hope there is no additional action to say we were party to or had knowledge of the dispute and therefore owe his former club that sum as a transfer fee.
Edit Just dug a little and he claims he was not paid his wages and that his Portuguese club still owed money on his transfer from the US. Also one report says QPR are appealing the decision.

Not sure we can really be held responsible for this Robin. As far as I know, Cannon had already walked out on his contract before entering discussions with us.
UEFA laws also allow players to terminate their contracts, they just have to buy their way out. As such, it doesn't happen very often.
Whether unpaid salary is enough mitigation for an appeal remains to be seen. Doesn't sound like Cannon has handled the situation by the book from what I've read.

Just curious as to his whereabouts. Really a wellness check on Reggie. Anyone know?

Might this whole legal issue be why he isn't near the squad? As club notified his registration is now questionable? Or we don't want to be drawn into the dispute? Sounds like a mess and meanwhile might be hard to shift him. All speculation on my part.

That sounds reasonable. Given our early issues down the right (OK and elsewhere), wondered whether Marti might give him another look. There are plenty of teams in the US that might pony up for him if he is moved.

Was sat in directors box for WBA game Cheers mate. He looked tidy at times last season. Really didn't get much of an extended run due to a combination of circumstances and the emergence of Jimmy at right back then.

If memory serves me right, he was signed before Marti came on board and the media guys bigged up how clever we were getting him for free (free agent) after the transfer window closed....
This sh1tshow really does show how incompetent Les and co were...

This sh1tshow really does show how incompetent Les and co were... Don't think that is true. I think it was more that we got an international for free and that others wanted him. THink I am bucking the trend with Cannon as I thought he was good. When he joined, he was unfit (not training) so needed a pre season. Didn't have one, got injured and never really managed to recover it and with Dunne playing well, made it hard to get back into the team. He'll do well at this level. Won't be a world beater but he'll be decent enough. It was night and day when he played over Kakay.

This sh1tshow really does show how incompetent Les and co were... Yeah, definitely don't think that's accurate. As far as we were concerned, Cannon had negotiated his exit prior to the window closing and was a free agent. It seems that Cannon has been playing a bit fast and loose, hoping that the fact he's not been getting his salary on time would justify him walking out on a contract. End of the day, UEFA rules are clear. If he wants to walk out of a contract, he has to pay up the remainder of it. Clearly he hasn't done so, and a legal case will ensue with the player claiming unpaid salary is a breach of contract (and it may well be). From our side, I'd imagine we are clear. The signing would have been ratified by the football league before Cannon could kick a ball. Whether he has unfinished business with his previous employer shouldn't be our problem.

Saying elsewhere the Madsen deal fallen through? Maybe because as a club FIFA now saying we have to pay some of the Cannon fine? Why on earth were we pursuing such a deal in the first place?

If true it seems Cannon is finished. Firstly he must be mentally blown being fined 1,2million plus I think the club could sue him and his agent for setting up the contract with us in bad faith. Strange thing is if all this was going on in the background how did the various authorities give him the international clearance and approvals for him to register with us. It would just be typical that we get dragged in and told to pay a million or two transfer fee that we could use for a new striker.

It's always wise to tamp down expectations when it comes to Reggie.

Someone posted this morning that Cannon has been fired (or at least left). Don't know if true? I posted last week an article saying QPR had been fined I think it was 400k for their role in the mess, but that we were appealing. Don't understand why we are being linked regularly with a right back. Think Dunne doing fine and was greatly encouraged by the performance of Santos in mid-week. Unless we are sending Santos out on loan to gain experience don't see why we would have three right backs?

Unless we are sending Santos out on loan to gain experience don't see why we would have three right backs? It could be that JCS is off? As for Cannon; it`s not unusual that players take action and leaves a club for breach of contract. His problem is that Boavista obviously deny any wrongdoings in the matter. Just my take at it...

3 years left on his deal. I wonder if the backdrop of the dispute with his former club was grounds to terminate his contract?

We surely must have the right to terminate him with all the Portuguese stuff kicking around and reports of us having to pay 400k for signing him while he was legally still under contract. Just when things were getting to a decent point we pick up this story. Interesting background story from the US press is that he left the US to go to Portugal to get away from death threats after he "took the knee" before a game in the US during the Black Lives Matter era and someone threw a bottle at him.

I don't understand how the signing could have been approved by the Football League if he was still registered to another club. I thought there were checks and balances to prevent that from happening?
Not great to hear we may have been fined for this. You'd have thought we'd have learned from the Alle Faurlin saga.
