What type of player is Amos? Box to box M/F with a much better pass completion rate than Dom Ball...was used most recently primarily in a high press role.

Could Amos play in Chairs position Two different players..Amos does not have Chairs flair or creativity Different types of player, but he maybe able to play there and be as effective or more effective then Chair. Johansen and Chair are different types of players but Johansen could definitely play as an attacking midfield centre.

Amos is a marmite player on this board..good engine ,very tidy passing but weak in physique with only one season in league football.
Looks to me like a goal scoring box to box player...I rate him but others may think different.

It will be interesting what sort of player Amos comes back as. I certainly felt he was developing into a tidy, box to box type player when he got injured. Real shame for him cos I think he had a tough journey back from the first knee injury that ended his Spurs career.
He's now had a cruciate injury to both knees. Not what you need as a young, energetic midfield player. He will possibly need to adjust his game a bit like Ale Faurlin had to after his knee problems. I think he's a good enough footballer to adapt if he does come back a little less mobile than he was before.

I wonder if Fields could play as a left wing back, it’s possible that he has the qualities for the role

I come from a long line of Glasgow Rangers fans mate. Born up there and the first generation of my family that was raised predominantly down South. Crying shame what happened to Ian Durrant. I actually saw him play at Ibrox a number of times when he came back after the injury. He was still a very tidy player but he was robbed of 3 years of his career and came back a different player (from what I've heard anyway, I was probably only 6 or 7 when he got injured). Luckily reconstructive knee surgery has come on leaps and bounds since the 80's.

I'm just a little surprised that we are signing another defensively minded midfielder. Think he's more of an all round CM than a CDM Tarbs. I'd say that's needed with Carroll and Amos out, and with Ball more of a CDM.

Luckily reconstructive knee surgery has come on leaps and bounds since the 80's. I was born in Glasgow too, the reason I mentioned him was because he was a box-box, attacking, goal scoring midfielder, then he suffered that horrendous tackle and when he eventually came back to the game he had to change and adapt his game and became a very good midfield playmaker. He was a very special talent, he was the gem, the rising star in a Rangers team that was one of the best teams in Europe at the time and arguably the best team in Britain in those years. He was still very young when he was injured, 21 y/o, apparently a lot of the biggest clubs in Europe were very interested in him just before it happened. Anyway as I said he had to adapt his game because of injury and became a very good midfield playmaker, perhaps Amos can do the same?

Nice to meet another Glaswegian R mate. Although the lads that have met me on here will tell you that you'd never guess I was a Scot unless I told you. Sound about as Southern as the rest of them!

I’m huge Amos fan gutted when he got injured. If he could add arriving in box late ala fat Frank then he Would get ten goals a season. He was starting to show signs of that before injury

And I was in a pub with a couple of people and I ordered a whisky with a little water, when I got to the table with my drink and sat down my whisky had this white shit floating around in it. Back up to the bar, showed the barman my whisky, “what the fuck is that”, I enquired. It took 3 whisky’s from him before I accepted that it was because of the water

I think in reality, Field and De Wijs were as good as done from the moment they were signed on loan. But I agree, nice to be getting business done early doors.
