I really hope we got a fair price for especially if the reports of 4 million for that Jannsson from Leeds is proved to be accurate.

When he left Bristol City he left much due to being forced to play on the left wing by a player I really fancy? But what`s his name?? He could actually have replaced "kind of" replaced Freeman now...

Really? Surely as our best player/most creative outlet he's worth a few mil more/double that to us? Leeds may be looking at losing Kemar Roofe, their top goalscorer last season, for £5.5m as he only has a year left on his contract. Also the Freeman fee represents a 1667% increase on the fee we paid for him; surely no-one is complaining about that, we may not see such figures for a player again for a long while.

That said, that's well into the 2nd half of your career for most attacking players. Can't help but think if he was a genuine top flight player it would have happened long before now!

Now to start with this guy was a good player for us that’s not in question
Last season though myself and I think it was 73 said that the major part of our problem and struggles was that Freeman was to greedy and everything went through him when there were better options. In being our best player he actually became our biggest weakness and that we would actually be a far better, all round, team without him
I know loads of fans feared his absence would screw us but thus far think evidence suggests we have not missed him at all and we have actually excelled in his absence and players such as Eze have thrived
Was good business moving him on

Mate, I think you'll find I backed you to hilt with your assessment of Freeman too. Good player for us, but his set pieces at times were woeful and he often played for himself and not for the team.
Fast forward 12 months and we have an attacking line full of creativity, and lads working for each other for the best of the team. I'm not sure we could have transformed like this had Freeman still been here.
Also worth noting that he's done nothing so far at Sheff Utd. Probably reinforces what a few of us said when he made the move. Decent Championship level player, nothing more. If he was genuine Premiership quality it wouldn't have taken until he was 27 years old for him to make it there!

Freeman going has allowed our two young guns to be the focal point of the team and while Eze had shown glimpses of what he was capable of Chair has come in and for me is better for the team and the balance of it. Still think 5 million was low but on the football front think we have done ok in his absense.

Hate to say it but I said the same last season on this board.
Miles better balanced team without him.

I think corners and free kicks have been dire this year. Can’t think of corner we have put into the box. Manning plays it short then it seems to end up with our keeper.

better off without him for sure imo. great player at this level but we relied far too heavily on him last season and he limited what we could do.

Freeman was quality but I always said that it was a real struggle to fit him and Eze into a team.
Seems to have worked out for the best IMO

Play with more pace and much more involvement throughout the team. He did well for us but we also did well by him.

The lack of height against most of the defenders we have encountered this season will have a lot to do with the short corner preference. Some have been really well designed and ill executed, some have been well designed and well executed and some are baffling in their intent but I understand the reason for them. Manning's set pieces have mostly been an improvement on what we have seen in recent seasons. Wasn't Eze's free kick the first goal from a free kick since Chery?

Fair point Esox about height but mix it up and throw odd one in mixer

Hugill and Wells
Eze Chair Bos

Freeman was quality for us. Our problem was that we were so reliant on him turning up every game that, when he didn't, we were utter shite, and that meant his poor performance was highlighted more. That said, I don't think he's missed as much as we thought he'd be. He deserved his Prem move though, so good luck to him.

Fair point Esox about height but mix it up and throw odd one in mixer Every chance of giving possession to the opponents that way and it would appear that MW wants QPR keeping the ball for as long as possible without aimlessly giving it away. AFAICR we haven't banged a single corner into the six yard box this season but a small number have either been hit long for knocking back into the box low or hit to the front post for the same purpose of causing havoc on the deck in the 6 yard box.
