MW wants QPR keeping the ball for as long as possible without aimlessly giving it away. That's one aspect I've really appreciated about our play this season. Have always preferred possession based football, even if that means longer slower build ups from the back, and sometimes having to pass backwards when no forward pass is on. Our first three goals were all good examples of that. Some fans still need coming round to that approach as you could hear the impatience from sections of the crowd yesterday.

Fair point Esox about height but mix it up and throw odd one in mixer Every chance of giving possession to the opponents that way and it would appear that MW wants QPR keeping the ball for as long as possible without aimlessly giving it away. AFAICR we haven't banged a single corner into the six yard box this season but a small number have either been hit long for knocking back into the box low or hit to the front post for the same purpose of causing havoc on the deck in the 6 yard box. Yeah I make you right there. Have to say I'm enjoying Manning's set pieces so far this season.

I feel that Freeman has faded as a memory. He was one of the few straws to cling on to last season and we've made him better than he really is in our minds because we were so shit.
Psychology tells you to hang out with people who are uglier than you and you'll look like a 10

I loved Luke and although it was inevitable I was a bit gutted when he left. However, some very good points made in this thread including the OP.

Fact of the matter is that Eze and Chair are a better attacking combination for the team than Eze and Freeman.

Like Luke. Good player and hard worker. But think there's no Freeman in team. At our level at least.

Looks like a waste of money for Blades. He´s only played two cup games and a total of 83 minutes in the PL spread out over 5 matches since August 31. Been on the bench a lot, so maybe that´s what he was bought for. Probably not what he was expecting, though.

Freeman on loan would you? No, think we are covered with Eze, Chair, Pugh, Bos and Amos who can all fill his role. I like Freeman though, just think it wouldn´t be right for us at this point.

Said at the time not sure Sheff Utd was the right move for him. If I was Freeman and wanted to be a premier league regular I would look to go to Leeds on loan to be coached by Bielsa who would improve him no end.

Yeah I'm honestly not sure they'd be wanting him.... thing is they reckon (possibly with good reason) that they're unlikely to blow it again from here. And I couldn't see him getting more game time with Leeds in the prem next term than he is with Blades now. So question is, do they need him now to help secure promotion? I don't think so.

Hal my point was for Freeman to develop into a premier league player going to play under Bielsa would do that. Did read something last week that they were showing interest in him as Hernandez was sidelined.

wouldn't take him back at all. he was a good player for us for sure but limited the side. plus where would he fit in? maybe in place of pugh? but we have chair for that but i think chair has the potential to be better than freeman.

Freeman would walk into our team and is twice the player of chair. Great signing for Forest and can’t believe some people would seriously not welcome him back considering the squad we have.

Quality player. Freeman and Taylor are two proper signings for them.

Freeman great little player always gives his all It's funny to read such comments when you consider how much stick he got for being greedy and hanging on to the ball too long. Some were happy to be shot of him. A good player but he certainly divided opinion on R's forums.

Good individual player poor team. We’re we better side without him?

Do not agree about him being twice the player as Chair, Yes he did well for us but I always felt the he was playing for himself. Chair will come on this year of that I have no doubt and I would rather give him the chance in the same way we did with Eze after Freeman left and Eze was a much better player for it.

Good individual player poor team. We’re we better side without him? Definitely and played with pace as the players released the ball at the right time for us to do harm to the other team.

Exactly how I feel mate. We need to probably bring in another number 10 now Eze has gone. But I'd prefer it to be someone to act as an understudy to Chair. He's earned his change to step in to Eze's role in the team in my opinion.

Sheff always seemed like wrong move for him as wilder had his core of players and just didn't see where Luke fitted in there. Get back to his best at forest no doubt. Wonder what the amount their purchase option is end of season.

TBF saying he’s twice the player is probably a bit harsh but he is more accomplished and currently the better player who would imo start above Chair if Warbs had the choice between them two.

Some strange memories here - no doubt a talented player but one of the biggest criticisms was that he never released the ball once he'd made the chance. Head down, step over, step over, blind alley, end of move. Plus he never benefited from Holloway's blind insistence on playing the three amigos when it was a mix that didn't work.
