Hard not to deduce that Cifuentes has had plenty to say to Ruben G on the lack of options open to him from the academy squad. Maybe we’ve finally found a football figure head that the owner may trust. Maybe that brochure is being ripped up?

Maybe Furlong is being moved up the bed a bit?

Like Ferdinand,Fernandes,Bhatia and others. Fucked the club up and fucked off. Good riddance. The board are ultimately responsible but Les and his use of QPR to promote 'positive discrimination' is the biggest issue to arise during the last 10 years. We should never forget or forgive.

Club is run by anyone holding the wheel at the given time. Ramsey going quite frankly makes no difference to our fight for survival as noplayer has come through the first team from our youth/academy set up. A totally pointless position given to him after his disastrous stint as manager

Maybe Furlong is being moved up the bed a bit? I hope not, he's another one too associated with the Les years and needs to go too. Furlong was here before Les and his pal came from spurs. More likely he's been held back by those two bringing in their friend Hall? No coincidence the development squad has improved their results since he took the reigns, imo. I'd much rather get rid of Hall if we need to trim the coaching staff further. Maybe sparks can elucidate on this, but my hunch is that he has been good working with the kids. Another one who has first hand experience with PF is leehawkins, and he rates him too, if memory serves me right.

if there is going to be a reshuffle of the academy then i hope its a genuine reshuffle with an external appointment. furlong has done a good job with the youth teams but that doesn't mean he can run an academy which requires a different skillset. if we do appoint a new internal head then i can see it going to manisha taylor for the reasons i said before.
what we should be doing is looking at overachieving smaller clubs academies and trying to model our academy off of theirs. the likes of crewe especially as they operate with similar constraints to ours being that they're surrounded by much bigger clubs yet still churn out players on a regular basis.
exeter are another team that produce good players but they have the luxury of having little competition in their catchment area. failing that then look abroad at other small clubs who produce good players and base our structure off of theirs.

Id be amazed (and I don't know why, as this is QPR), if we hadn't already worked out what we need, who we don't and how to do it. Makes not sense to have removed someone who has (had?) a good reputation with no succession plan i place.
But then we lost a DOF, and still don't have one.

i assume she's already the interim head of academy as she was the assistant to CR. i've not really heard much about her other than the many many articals about her being a trailblazer and asian lol.
if she was good enough then i have no issue with her being the new full time head but i'm worried if its just a continuation of the old regime and for PR shit. all that stuff aside she must at least be competent at her job as she's worked her way up from u9s to assistant head.

I’m guessing due to various age groups being at different venues in the past we employed more staff.
New training ground always signalled a turnover of some staff, with some having different titles but similar football responsibilities.
Alex Carrol currently has the title of academy director but has no real record of ever being a coach, yet is still responsible for overseeing our young players performances and placement out on loan.
It’s easy to think our recent set up has always been a bit ad-hock and just thrown together at times.
