Every club buys a player hoping they improve that’s not a lower league principle just lower down you go less you can gamble. Can’t think of many kids we sold down the leagues who have then got better and gone up the leagues?? They prob continued go down if honest
He’s not been sold either!
Remember when we let the CB go Barnsley and there was uproar where is he now

Lower league clubs buy players they think will improve them. They don't buy bad players because they are lower league, they buy the best they can afford. If we are prepared to sell someone at a price they can afford that's our doing. They must rate him at above their level or there would be no point buying him. I still think we should have had a look at him but, like Les said, everyone is for sale. No, they could have bought him as part of rotation, part of squad depth. You don't always buy because they are better; granted you would usually but not always the case. Are people basing Smyth on the couple of minutes he has had with us? As he hasn't nailed down a starting spot at any club he has been to, and thats a lower level so I am not sure why people think he will be a loss and would improve us? Yes he has pace, but so did BOS and people were critical of his end product so what are we hoping with someone who has been left out of squads by around 8 managers (including loans)?

I'm not sure Smyth will be in the starting XI for Accrington.

www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/smyth-set-to-be-released-by-qprset to be released. don't really think its fair to call out the club over this tbh. he's been half decent at times but never really kicked on with us and his loan spells have been lacklustre. maybe we could have got a fee for him but it would have been minimal. it's probably best for him to have a fresh start in league 1 which is probably his level. i hope he can kick on and have a good career as he's a decent footballer and comes across as a nice bloke too

Not good enough is the bottom line Corbs. Not helped by the fact he has the physique of an 11 year old boy. His own fault he hasn't got in the gym and addressed that.

Had great hope for Smyth when he signed - exciting player, started well with us - and Northern Ireland - and thought he could only get better.
Not sure we gave him much of an opportunity, but maybe he wasn't as good as I thought/hoped he would be.
Best of luck to the lad though, hope he comes good somewhere.

Hope he does well but personally never been very impressed. If he never scored on his debut and raised expectations he would never get a mention

Not sure we gave him much of an opportunity I believe we have given him every chance in the world: Ollie brought him in before the 2017/18 season and then gave him his chance to shine 2nd half of the season(7 starts, 6 subs and the annual new years cup exit game) He even had two full international games for Northern Ireland! Then Dutch Steve came in and apparently wasn´t too impressed with what he saw, after giving young Smyth the chance in the first couple of games 18/19, which made Smyths mum go ballistic, ranting that Dutchie was a muppet that needed sacking on a QPR Facebook group. After that he was (understandably) not too popular with Steve, and only made one sub appearance in January before he went to Accrington. Ever since then, his time in league one has been much of a muchness, and TBF to our club, it´s also worth mentioning that Warbs even gave him a few sub appearances start of this season. To me it looks like he hasn´t got the right mentality to get to the required level, because he had every chance after that first spell under Ollie to up his game, when he hit the rough patch under Steve: Knuckle up, bulk up, work hard, head down and shut up. Instead he went crying to mam, and the rest is history.

Perhaps it wasn't for want of trying. You would assume all these professional clubs would have had him on a regular gym regime. Perhaps it's more a case of some physiques and metabolisms simply can't significantly change due to genes.

With the right nutrition and enough time in the gym it can be overcome though. Typically when someone is as little as Smyth its because they aren't taking in enough calories.

He’s not that good Gens. Was throw of the dice from holloway when he was under pressure and the lad went and scored and suddenly bang average player had high expectations
Doubt we will hear from him again not one we’re going regret letting go

No get shopido back give him a game Gotta say I was never convinced by either of them. From what I saw of Shodipo he was really an out and out old skool winger. Tended to fade, not so good on back foot. We can't afford quality, so anyone who comes here has to give 110%.
