I was really looking forward to seeing this lad last season, but instead we loaned him out. He looked fantastic in the couple of games he played at the end of 2017, reminded me of Michael Owen. I hope this is his breakthrough season. We've been saying we haven't got any strikers, but what about this lad?

If we see Charlie Kendall break through to the first team too we could be in for a treat up front, he has a great scoring record and I would be delighted if he proved he could do it at any level.

I think there is a lot to come from Smyth. Just hope he is in Warbs plans.

I don't know anything about Charlie Kendall, have you seen him play Esox? I have been watching the streams on the offish for games and he started the season on fire then I noticed he wasn't playing, this was apparently due to a bad injury. He returned to the team and carried on where he left off and has a very decent scoring ratio. I expected that he would be star in the U23's next season but I was talking to him, Faisal Bettache, Ben Wells & Ali Omar before the last game of the season and he really feels that next season will be his breakthrough into the first team. I would have liked to have seen Deshane Dalling making the move up too but there is a lot of competition for wide players at QPR atm.

Not 100% sure about Smyth, but the Chair definitely needs first team time this term. Is he staying or off on the rounds again?

Would send out the wrong message to all our youngsters if he doesn't get a chance to stake his claim for a regular spot in the starting 11.

Really Really unhappy about this
Kids got so much potential
Madness of this finest order
Especially with no strikers gobsmacked

From what I've heard I'm almost certain this will happen. Bit disappointed myself, I thought he deserved a chance. But if the manager doesn't think he's ready, he's better out on loan than kicking around in the reserves. I just hope we have some decent strikers inbound!

If we've three quality strikers (I'm not counting Oteh) then send him out. Not before? Who is to play facking up front in the Kiyan Prince Foundations Stadium?

I reckon they are banking on two incoming but sureley we can make him going out conditional on that happening. Very risky leaving us this bare. I am not quite panicking yet, but I am getting there.

Paul Smyth has joined League One club Wycombe Wanderers on a season-long loan deal.
The Northern Irishman – who spent the second half of last season on loan with Accrington Stanley – has made 19 QPR appearances, having made his debut in 2017.
Manager Mark Warburton has explained the decision to allow Smyth to head out on loan.
He said: "Paul came to the club, settled in well and made a very positive impression. However, he now needs to continue his development by playing regular first-team football and in Gareth and Wycombe we have the perfect environment for this to happen.
"Yes, he could benefit from being around the first-team squad here and having occasional pitch time but our focus has to be on having Paul develop as swiftly as possible and there is no better teacher than playing the game itself.
"We will work closely with Gareth, someone we trust and respect very much, to ensure that Paul's development is closely monitored, with the focus on being to have Paul return to the club at the end of the Season a better player for the experience."
With regards to the current search for strikers, Warburton was keen to emphasise the amount of work being done by the football department.
He said: "I fully appreciate that some of our supporters will be concerned at the evident lack of attacking options, but it is vitally important that we secure players who represent good value for the club and who possess the quality and desire to play for QPR.
"It is a highly-competitive market place and we must strive to work in a financially prudent manner that allows for the long-term health of the club to flourish. Please rest assured that everyone within the football department is working tirelessly to ensure we enjoy a successful summer window, with strikers being at the very top of our shopping list."

Tarbs he is ready mate Already played for the first team and scored goals Complete piss take Plenty of players have had a handful of good games and scored goal or 2, but ultimately not been ready or good enough. Hell, Macheda scored on his first 2 games for Man Utd and he was a sack of shit! Gotta trust the management in this scenario. They see the players up close every day. If Warburton ain't gonna pick him then a loan is best for Smyth.

Gotta admit this seems mighty strange. Okay, I only saw him play a couple of times but the lad looked mustard. There has to be something going on here that we don't know about, otherwise it just doesn't make sense.

But he's also extremely lightweight. I'd be surprised if he even weighs in at 60kg. He's also really not had a lot of games at anything like Championship level. Personally I'd have give him a chance this season. But I'm not about to start slating Warburton if he thinks Smyth needs a season out on loan.

Yes, I was looking forward to seeing him play for us this season but I don't think we should be hanging our hat on him being a regular striker. Let us see who we bring in before assuming Armageddon.

he's also extremely lightweight. he is still a bit too leightweight. If this is the issue, he needs to spend more time in the gym bulking up rather than going on loan again. Personally I think he did enough under Ollie to prove he's worth another chance in and around the 1st team, especially given our current dearth of strikers. He certainly impressed more than Oteh for the first team, yet he's still being given chances, so why not Smyth. But, as usual, the manager must know best.

Maybe he does need some time in the gym mate. Maybe Warburton has told him that when he sent him out on loan. The point is none of us know anything apart from what we see on the pitch. For Smyth that means less than 200 minutes for most fans, unless they also happen to have watched all of Acrington Stanley's games last season too. Have to trust that the manager has seen enough in training to know whether he's in his plans or not!
