We could do with one really decent keeper in to go alongside Dieng as the 2 first teamers.
Keeper has been an area of concern for a while. Haven't really had much confidence in Lumley or Kelly to be honest.

Chance given and shown to be non-league ( a generous assessment)

Fake news there from West London Sport: "Lumley is currently on loan at Doncaster Rovers, having lost his place in the Rangers side to the in-form Seny Dieng."Rubbish. He's not "in-form". He's just better! 😅 Although, in fairness, Warbs did once describe Lumley as "a future PL goalkeeper" 😎

I think he has a lot of attributes that could make people think that. He's a big lad, he's agile, he's a good shot stopper. Unfortunately he's prone to losses of concentration and drops at least 1 clanger most games. He's also never going to be good enough for sides that want their goalies to be able to pass the ball around a bit, as seems to be the trend for most of the sides in the Premier League and even a lot in the Championship these days.
I'd say he probably looked a little worse for us than he actually is because Warburton asked him to play in a way he wasn't capable of. Maybe you could also argue that he wasn't helped by having a not particularly great back 4 in front of him last season, but he's 25 years old now. Late bloomer or not, if he was genuinely good enough to play at a higher level it would have happened by now.

He gets beat from long range way to easily. Pulls off the odd good double save (I remember a triple save last season) but nothing where I would think that's unbelievable. All goalkeepers pull of the odd good save.

When Joe Lumley retires will he become head honcho of our scouting department.
Since his recent loan spell at Gillingham we signed goalkeeper Joe Walsh.
After a loan at Doncaster Rovers we were rumoured to have bid for Whiteman and also rumoured to be interested in Josh Simms.
What may this suggest about our scouts previous signings.
Dom Ball from Aberdeen ,then rumours of a bid for their left sided C/B ( can’t remember his name but looked poor for me)
Todd Kane from Hull City then latterly The Vice Man from same club
Liam Kelly from Livingston then latterly Lyndon Dykes from same club.
McBonne from Charlton then latterly rumours of Alfie Doughty from same club
We certainly seem to like to go back for a second bite of the Cherry with clubs recently.
Maybe Rscot may be able to point us in the direction of a couple of players at Motherwell where our apprentice scout Liam Kelly is currently on loan.
Are all these a coincidence or is it a case of a sign of a limited scouting network.

rejected this morning, apparently they wanted him on loan which makes no sense for us.
still think he'll be a good keeper one day just not with us. he had a great debut season under macca so the potential is there
