Not sure it will be that simple, unless West Ham are ready to cut their losses massively. He's contracted til 2022 on a reported 40k a week, and they parted with 10m quid for him. The'd be doing well to get half that fee, and I doubt any club is going to match those wages. Are West Ham likely to write 5m quid plus subside/pay up 2 and half years of the shortfall on his salary?

Bit like we did with Jordan Mutch (currently without a club aged only 27)

Sure they basically took over his contract and paid us more or less what we'd paid for him as a fee!

I don't think we could all believe our luck when Palace paid that.

He had absolutely nothing about him.

He had absolutely nothing about him. I saw his first game for us, can't remember who it was against. I watched him closely, and he could kind of play football, but something wasn't quite right... The extraordinary case of Mr Jordon Mutch, who couldn't play football, but still earned very much.

Just nothing about him, was there? Would probably look ok if you put him next to a top quality central midfielder and just told him to cover ground and try to keep possession. But he added literally nothing offensively.

West Ham will stay up so most likely be loaned out again next season.

Would you have him here again if the opportunity is there?

Would you have him here again if the opportunity is there? Not for me as it would mean 3 seasons in a row where our first choice strikers would be a loan signing. Would be a very lazy signing imo.

Surely with player sales this club can spot a talent and bring him to the club otberwise you have to question what the recruitment guys actually do?

Would you have him here again if the opportunity is there? He's scored just under 1 in 2 for us this season, so yes. We'd need another striker though.

Yet he's finished our joint-top scorer with 15. 15 goals in a mid-table side. Absolute no-brainer for me. Would have him back all day long.

Have a look at Sam Cosgrove at Aberdeen..just turned down a £2m move abroad..If I was scouting on videos like Belkin I would be splashing the cost of getting somebody up north to have a good look at him.

No question that he has done well and his goals have been invaluable but if we are set to sell three assets at once for decent money then I would prefer that the recruitment guys identify a target within our budget and get them. How do we progress as a club or team when your striker can be sold mid season like Wells or like Hugill goes back to his club.

I see what you mean, I should make it clear I'd be happier with permanent signings but I'd take Hugill on loan again alongside them. I'd rather sign him up permanently but doubt we'd be able to afford him.

Hugill and Conor Chaplin, perhaps? Hugill has to be here for the season, if not a no-go, imo.

No doubting he has done great and while not always a fan he has done was he was brought in to do score goals and fair play to him. If we are loaning again then Hugill will be good with me.
