I'm with you all the way OldR but we'd be accused of being old fossils. The truth is apart from a few decent players the rest are pretty useless and that reflects the amount of people willing to pay to watch it

I do like that woman pundit who is on MOTD sometimes though. Seems to know her stuff whilst being far more attractive than Alan Shearer!

Only seen parts of a few games of women's football. Plenty enough to know I could never take it seriously.
I think the fairest way to compare it is along the lines of tennis, golf and darts. Whilst obviously not being quite as good as the men’s games, they at least look very good at their sports. Totally different story with football though. If you want to see a bad keeper, then that’s where you’ll find one! 😂

I disagree, completely disagree in fact, about her knowledge. I think she's wonderful at repeating cliches and dressing up the obvious but if you analyse what she actually says and brings to the table it is very little. The 'low block' incident with Souness perfectly sums her up for me: trying to appear far more intelligent than she is. Also, and off on a slight tangent, I want to hear the opinions of those who have played the game at the level they are analysing. For all the faults of the other pundits, at least all of them can relate to the pressures of playing Premier League/International football in front of thousands of paying customers and millions watching on TV. Alex Scott seldom played in front of crowds that reached 4 figures and TV figures that The National League on BT sports would be concerned by. Yes, I really must get round to listening what she is saying rather than just dreamily staring at her

Down here Yeovil Ladies have gone into Admin. There was more on the pitch than on the terraces

There are some erm talented ladies out there, one of the England women in particular looks to have far better distribution skills that half of our lot.
Having said that I don't think the BBC should have a pro women's game agenda, which is really driven by their own balance sheets. It's all they can afford.

Man City 17/18 champions league (women) home attendance (average) = 1,473.
The coverage is ludicrously disproportionate.

So, I have seen many tweets today asking 'misogynistic men' to stop comparing women's football with men's and consider it another sport... But the same are saying that women's football should get near or equal coverage as men's and equal pay... So, and correct me if I am wrong, they want us to not comment on how poor it is by comparison but for players who attract the same attendances as National League South teams to get paid the same as players who play in front of tens thousands of fans... and have TV coverage to match too. Is it Comic Relief again already? Im all for it. Love watching breasts bounce.

And when the She Believes Cup was on The Championship league table appeared 4th in the drop-down list on BBC Football 😯. It was 3rd behind The Prem and Scottish Prem before. Shouldn't be surprised with it being the BBC I suppose.

And then of course there are male commentators who haven`t got a clue Jaqui Oatley has quite often visited the Norwegian Premier League studio, and I have to say that her knowledge of the game is very good. In fact, She is really streets a head of Trevor Morley, who is a regular pundit there, as far as tactics etc. are concerned..

Trevor Morely who played in front of tens of thousands of fans in top flight football has earned his right to offer punditry over Jaqui Oatley who has attended games like we have. Just because they've played the game doesn't mean they can analyse it. Which is why the majority of them never make it at the highest level of coaching / management.

I think most people who follow sport can make insightful observations without having played to the highest levels. Pundits may not be anymore clued up than us but they have a profile. Diversity and inclusion is now mainstream and we'll see that more and more in all businesses.

I once asked a couple of the qpr womens team in all seriousness if it would be better if the teams could use a male, say under-21s, goalkeeper.
Got an icy enough reception now. Still reckon there's something in it 😬

Every team in the WSL lost money last season. The only team to show a profit was Everton. The average loss was £1m and they don't pay for facilities or any staff. So in reality as a percentage of profit they are being payed vastly more than men. You can buy a ticket for the Womens Champions Final for £2.

How many clubs in our league made a profit last year? Don’t think any did iirc. At underage level the girls seem to be doing well based on personal experience. My two youngest boys play under 10 and under 11 and when girls are playing they are more often than not the better players on the pitch and more team oriented.

Not bad efforts at all, but surely the keepers have got to be better than that?

Apart from Everton every top flight womens club made a loss of £1m+ last season despite not paying for Coaches, pitch hire, staff etc.. It is just a few very loud Liberal majority pushing Womens sports.Hence nowdays with Sky and the Beeb it is compulsory to have a female commentator on football,cricket.darts.rugby etc. Let them do it off their own backs instead of hi jacking mens sports. If you hurry you can still get tickets for the Womens Champions League final for £6.

My cousin's daughter plays for Liverpool but when she played for Birmingham Ladies I used to go and watch quite a few of their games at Solihull Motors and I agree with the comments about goalkeepers, they are definitely a weak link, even the international ones. The outfield players were of a much better standard and Kirsty told me that the women trained with the men's first team which helped with the physical side of the game. A lot of the women I watched would probably hold their own in a conference side.
