Anyone know how serious this injury was? I should believe grade B? This one? Not sure on grade but they said he's out for 6-9 months. Not sure about his first one.

Luke Amos played a full match for our reserves last night against Brentford. Let`s hope he is feeling ok today.

Has been very unlucky with injuries. I hope that's behind him now, because there's a player there. Bags of potential.

Seems to be Marmite on here. Would always be in my team. Hard worker, always shows, never hides. Can tackle and pass, has a little bit of pace, reads the game and has good recovery and covers well. Looks to get himself and the ball forward quickly and often. Awful finisher - must improve this as no point getting in the box if you don’t put it away occasionally. I’d pick him before Dozzell.

There are defo mixed opinions seen a few on Twitter say not too keen
Fella in front of us Bristol compared him in style to Mark Noble and thought that was really good comparison
Think he’s type of player who plays well with games instead of being dropped in and out. Probably most intelligent player in squad, Stefan aside, when you watch positions he takes and how he reads game
Good point on finishing Think he had two chances midweek and did he not fluff one at home few games back

Which is why I (and Cricks) disagreed he was MOTM "by some distance". Very good player otherwise as I've stressed many times.

Take Amos out the discussion I’ve never based mom on who scores as for me that can skew outcome I’m looking personally at the whole performance I Remember when manning used to get mom for having a decent cross but not an awful lot more to his game different strokes for different folks no right or wrong

so because he missed a chanceTwo chances. Both of them decent. so because he missed a chance he was not in contention for mom?? Never said that mate. Yes he had a good game and yes he was in contention. I just disagreed with you that he won it "by some distance". Take Amos out the discussion I’ve never based mom on who scores as for me that can skew outcome I’m looking personally at the whole performance I Remember when manning used to get mom for having a decent cross but not an awful lot more to his game different strokes for different folks no right or wrong Totally agree on all those points. And I do the same when judging a motm.

His finishing is a fair point but the embarrassing header was very difficult in all honesty. He’s not a striker and more of a worry for me was Dykes being put through (by Amos I think) and taking a touch to give defender time instead of hitting it first time. Amos does need to improve in front of goal as a lot of his other work goes unnoticed.

I think he’s a good player but he was still part of a midfield that should really have dominated game when they went down to 10 men. I prefer Dozzell in the midfield alongside Stef. Something wasn’t right in our play and when you’re not dominating the ball, got to look at midfield first in my view.

I like Amos and Dozzell but can't help thinking that Sam Field should be the starting man in the middle.

What do people think about Amos? Have always thought he was a tidy sort of player but wondered what he was actually exceptional at - but happy to eat humble pie, am starting to see a real player. Really likes his driving runs and with even a tiny bit of lucky he could have had three goals in the last two games.

Could do with scoring more but he’s intelligent and gets forward more than you think. Shouldn’t underestimate the mental effect of two career threatening injuries. Needs confidence and goal today will help. Works well with Field - both clearly brought up right in the game.

Against Swansea he frustrated me a bit as thought he needed to get stuck in more as Field does, but maybe as you say that is the consequence of the injury. I hope he gets over it because Ali Faurlin lost a bit of that aggression after his ACL injuries (tho in fairness was older than Amos). Don't want to put unfair expectations but there is a little bit of Deli Ali in Amos.

I think you and I have been in the minority by rating Amos all along. I don’t think MW is right for him, doesn’t know where to play him. Needs encouraging as a box to box midfielder and keep working on his finishing. I bet that doesn’t happen during the week. Hope we keep him. If I was Amos I’d be looking to go. And me! Reading the dedicated Luke Amos thread makes interesting reading. Question to ask… if everybody is fit and on form (Johansen)with 3 CBs and who gets left out to make way for Amos ?

He's ahead of Field, Dozzell and Thomas IMO. Re Johansen, that's a bit hypothetical really as it looks like his best days are now behind him, in terms of being able to play at the required level every game. 3 CBs isn't a set in stone system either, if it was up to me.

Of the 3 players that you mention Stan I could only see Amos replacing Thomas in our current injury plight although George has clearly shown he’s been underused this season.
IMO at this time Dozzell is our only creative MF player and he looks out of his depth at times, Field plays a single holding role that Amos is unlikely to excel at.
I have been calling for 2 CBs for that extra body in MF but pairing any 2 of Dickie Dunne and Barbet clearly is unsatisfactory due to their lack of pace.
Hopefully Johansen injury is something that can be rectified during the summer break.

He needs to be playing every game until the end of the season. Drop the BGB and keep Amos on the pitch for 90 mins. Have georginho in attack midfield and push chair wide left. Chuck donkey into the canteen serving up pasta to the footballers and have gray starting.
