think i'm going to vomit.
would rather a scarecrow in midfield than this nonentity.
here's to a season of 5 yard passes, sideways.
any speedy counter attack will be killed when he gets on the ball.

I was not a huge fan first time round but he was a kid learning. He’s now got proper football under his belt in the prem so hopefully we get a improved player.
I don’t think he hugely strengthens squad but at same time don’t weaken it

LTC is a decent squad filler but I do hope his wages aren't to the detriment of bringing other players in into the positions we need to strengthen. Would like to see us bring in a midfielder with a physical presence, but can also pass the ball as with what we have at the moment with Cameron and Ball they offer nothing in that aspect.

I think it’s shrewd signing. 1 year deal, 28 with lots of experience.

People on here getting their knickers in a knot cos he didn't do much when he was here 7 years ago as 21 year making his first steps into regular first team football. In the time since he's left us he's played over 50 games for Spurs and close to 100 Premier League games for Swansea. Of course that will have improved him as a player. At the end of the day he's a free transfer on a 1 year deal. I'd hazard a guess we'll be paying him no more than 10 grand a week. As such, he's a half million quid role of the dice. Absolute buttons for a 28 year old with over 100 Premier League appearances under his belt. If Warburton gets a tune out of him it's a great signing, and no doubt we've chucked in a option to extend if that is how it goes. If it doesn't work out it was a roll of the dice that didn't break the bank.

True, his pass completation rate is high because he always makes the easiest pass downwards or sideways and because of that he slowens our forward play which isn't good for us. But now he has officially signed so hope he has improved and wish him good luck. “He brings Premier League experience and Premier League quality, in terms of his technical ability. He’s had a frustrating time over the last couple of months, but I think we have a very experienced and very talented player who is hungry to prove a point. My question to Tom was, ‘How hungry are you?’ Clearly, there is a really strong desire to come and play football. He should be entering his prime and I think he will be a great addition to the squad. He’s added a different level of passing ability – he sees a pass that opens up the opposition. He finds pockets of space that we work hard to create and maximise, and I think we play in a style that suits Tom.I think it’s a natural fit for him and he’s felt very at home here from the first day. He’s shown his quality, ability and desire to do well and move forward in his footballing career. Hopefully everyone benefits from this." Let's see, I guess!

Why would we be signing players in Europe at the moment? I'm trying to close off my affairs in South Africa and get some of my belongings back to the UK and it's an utter ball ache. It's a god awful time to be trying to relocate internationally or settle in a new country. Looking domestically is in my opinion, the best way to go this window. Dunno why you can't just keep an open mind mate. You were giving it all of the same crap about Dominic Ball last summer and he's turned out to be a cracking signing. I also dunno why it hasn't sunk in by now that the club is being run very differently in terms of finances than how it was 10 years ago. There will be a few rolls of the dice in the transfer market. If we are to remain profit-worthy then we need to be looking at some players with back stories or who's careers haven't quite run smoothly. We simply can't afford to have a squad of decent up and coming players coming in for 2 or 3 million a pop. We have been lucky enough to get 2 of those in this window, surely you can at least accept that as some kind of progress?

Not an exciting signing by any means. But I'm alright with a 1-year deal.

Not an exciting signing by any means. But I'm alright with a 1-year deal. And I guess he knows that to get another one, he’ll have to earn it. Could have done a lot worse. Hits, no moaning please when he is player of the season, gets a prem move and we don’t get upwards of £10m! 😂

I am ok with this especially on a short term free transfer as there will be worse players than him being signed this window..If it means we have a fee quid to buy a striker then I think Carroll is a good squad filling signing. He will also suit how MW likes to play.

Unless he's shown Warburton something we didn't see before he's a squad player at best surely. And if the 7 years since he last played for us have improved him, and he shows it in the next year, it'll turn out to be a shrewd move.

Unbelievable. Only with us because no one wanted him. Couldn't even get a game at Villa during their shit period. Just unbelievable. I wonder if the postman wants his old round back?

I'm realistic mate, I know we won't be spending much, if any, of the Eze money and I know we won't be signing Messi but I'd rather see a youngster given a look in than take on a flop who was criticised first time round for hiding and not being competitive. Don't forget, Spurs thought he was going to be the next boy wonder. Hard to think too much will have changed, leopards and all that.
