Unbelievable. Only with us because no one wanted him. Couldn't even get a game at Villa during their shit period. Just unbelievable. I wonder if the postman wants his old round back? Oh, you're actually being serious. I assumed this was a sarcastic post ๐

You mob got to ve more realistic with whereas a club we are. We not going to sign cream,or even the strawberry,we looking more at the napkin nowadays. I'm realistic mate, I know we won't be spending much, if any, of the Eze money and I know we won't be signing Messi but I'd rather see a youngster given a look in than take on a flop who was criticised first time round for hiding and not being competitive. Don't forget, Spurs thought he was going to be the next boy wonder. Hard to think too much will have changed, leopards and all that. Players learn and improve mate. Just as in any walk of life, the longer you are doing a job the more accomplished you should get. And this lad has played more Premier League games than anyone else in the squad bar Geoff Cameron. So I really dunno how we can be this pissed off about it. He will be a different player to that young lad we had 7 years ago. Not saying he's definitely going to be good, or even make the starting 11 most weeks. Only that he is nowhere near as bad a signing as some are making out. As for giving the youth a go. That'll happen too mate. Short season cos of Covid though, and the games come thick and fast in this league even under normal circumstances. Bettache will get games, but will also benefit from being able to rest and rotate when required.

Would be more pissed off if we do not buy another striker than signing Tom Carroll.

i so dislike the "safe" football players like tom carrol play , sideways , backwards allowing the opposition to get back into shape .

If we're on a limited budget you have to spend every penny wisely. I'm not sure sticking TC back on the books comes into the wisdom category for one main reason.
He's very lateral, like a latter day Butch but with less quality. He can help us hold possession but that's not our problem going forward. Our transitions are too slow, and I'm not sure how TC helps that.
We'll see.

Not jumping for joy but he's here now so let's get behind him.
I'm hoping in the years since he last played for us he's matured as a player and has more to offer.

Funnily enough, despite not being excited by this signing the bit I did like about TC was his willingness to show for the ball and move it about quickly.

We were all slagging off Eze last year and look what happened there to the Wycombe loanee I have followed Eze closely seeing him in the reserves and on loan at Wycombe. Always a top player in there with loads of talent and potential. In fact I posted on here that given the right coaching would go right to the top of the game. Tom Carrol not for me.
