tbf to the 2012-2016 period that was during our moneybags era when fernandes made most of the signings. belk has been out head of recruitment for what ... 3 years maybe? before that we penrice who was pretty good at finding good yet cheap players.

not sticking up for belk but it would be interesting to get a catalogue of signings that we could safely say are his signings compared to that of managers players.

it's never been a clear cut or streamlined thing with us.

How many managers has he helped get the sack with piss poor recruitment. Him being there that long sums up Rangers perfectly.

How can they not if he's been Head of Recruitment all that time? At the very least, he will be partly responsible for them.

because end of the day he can and probably was overuled by managers, les and the board numerous times.

In regards to any signings based on scouting, the buck certainly stops with him.

it's hardly like we've been a well run club in the last 5 years or sticking up for belk as he should indeed go. i remember seeing a report detailing how many staff were at the club in footballing roles and irc we had something like 120 compared to just 90 at millwall.

we're a mess as much off the pitch as we are on it. we go back on what we say, too many people have been involved in transfers/appointments over the years and there's no clear direction. belk is just another cog in that problem churning out machine.

So you do think he should go. Great. So I don't know what we're arguing about then, as that's the bottom line.

This was the genius who was supposed to be doing data analysis when in fact we completely ignored that approach for years, as witnessed by years of nonsensical transfer business. We're doing it now, but learning on the job, as we've seen with Madsen Celar etc. Should have actually been doing it for years, but we had Belk as 'head of data'.

He was then promoted to head of recruitment. You really couldn't make it up.

I'm absolutely amazed that he's still in situ.
