Anyone think Manning could do a job on the wing It's only what most of us have been saying for the last year, Maids. 😉Either that or LM. And it's not about "doing a job". It's his natural position - by trade FFS LOL.

Has scored in three consecutive games. Maybe we ought just play him on the left side of midfield where he's supposed to play? Now there’s a novel idea - Play someone in their ACTUAL position. Genius. Who’d have thought?!That`s what I said only a few posts above.

Hopefully Niko can step up and make the Lb position his own as will offer us more physicality we badly need in the side. Move Manning into midfield, hopefully in the place of Amos,as he's a waste of a shirt, offers the team absolutely nothing

Kakay hardly strengthened our team when playing last season and when played we have still shipped goals. Not down the right though. Most of the goals shipped have come down the left and who plays there? The clue is in the thread title.

Manning can't defend , he's caught out of position , no pace or positional awareness .he was all over the place for plymouths 3rd . Whether or not he warrants a place in midfield is another matter

he can cross a good ball if given enough time and space but does that warrant a place in m/f or as a winger ? Yes it does, as he chips in with the odd goal too, which would only increase if played higher up the pitch.

Perplexes me so much the manager see's him as a full back.

Not sure about that Pawel's head kind of went down and he lost interest a bit. Not seeing that with Manning. I'd go as far to say that he looks totally oblivious to the fact he seems to cost us a goal most weeks.

Warbs is ruining Manning as much as Ollie ruined Wszolek. personally think Manning would be disappointing if played in left midfield. He’s a bang average player who is well over hyped. I could possibly see him in centre of the park but not out wide as the only reason people think he looks good there and could play the role is because of the freedom he has from LB/LWB. Make him a left winger as his role and he will disappear as it’s totally different role and we would still be exposed from his lack lustre efforts to track back. Imagine being the LB playing behind him 😬 just my opinion 😁

He is no wide player of any description. Would not play him if no intention of staying beyond this season.

Just simply a much better left midfielder than any other position....never seen him as a LB as he is always looking to attack.

No reason he couldn’t be trained a little to play as a box to box midfielder.

Got a feeling Manning will be at West Ham soon. That would be great. We'll get a nice fee hopefully, and he'll make them worse. A win, win.

dont no where we can fit manning in the team , good going forward as hes proved but no energy or desire to track back and defend.its a difficult one for the manager as we need a LB thats going to defend first

"There’s no doubting the quality of Ryan Manning, of course.”
That worries me.

Tbf Manning is a good player, I think he’s just not a lb. he has a wand of a left foot and I would love to see Manning whipping balls into the box for Dykes.
I think Manning fits into a team as a wb - as long as we 3 defenders. Ie 3 5 2 - 3 4 3 ect.
I’m throwing this out there but could he do a job further up the field as a winger? Not convinced myself but if you had Wallace behind him and let manning concentrate on his forward duties, that could work.
Tbh, I think if Wallace and Niko can stay fit, it makes sense to sell Manning if there are any takers.

If he comes out and says he is shit, we will never get rid. Does not mean MW has to keep picking Manning to the detriment of the club either.. Manning has had chances in MF and has not produced...what’s suddenly changed ? Yeah he can cross the ball but should that not be a basic requirement of a footballer ?

Yeah he can cross the ball but should that not be a basic requirement of a footballer ? It should, but just look at the amount of players, who get paid handsomely week in week out, yet is unable to make a proper cross into the box, not to mention a simple 5 yard pass 😂
