Scored a good goal for Ireland U21s in the week. Does well to lose his man. Decent header too.

Of all the signings I think he has yet to get any minutes on the pitch. Bit strange.

I'd forgotten about him! What position does he play? Full back isn't he?

Of all the signings I think he has yet to get any minutes on the pitch. Bit strange. From what I can tell, he's never really played first team football anywhere as of yet. Maybe one for the future, in which case we probably should have sent him out on loan for the first half of the season. Maybe Warburton was concerned that he needed more cover at the back? He'll need to get games at some stage though, whether it's here or out on loan!

think he'll end up playing a few games this season especially if we have 3 at the back. we only have 4 CB's here not including ball and cameron

A lot of promise about him, I hope he's given a go at some point. I thought we might've at least seen him in the cup.

He would have gone on loan if we had signed the Scottish CB.

Me too. Liverpool don't pay best part of a mil for a 16 year old if he's a dud. Get him on the bench for a run out at least.

Isn't he one of those we signed for the U23's to avoid his transfer coming under FFP scrutiny? Similar to Manning, BOS and Wheeler.

The 20-year-old centre-back has been at Anfield since his 16th birthday and now he is relishing the opportunity to progress his career with the R’s.
QPR boss Mark Warburton said: “I have watched Conor’s progress and he is another young player with a lot of potential in him.
“What he will be looking to do is come in, bed himself into the dressing room and challenge for a place in the team.
“I want the pathway for young players here to be clear.
“If they are good enough, I’ll play them – I don’t care if they are 17 or 37, it’s about being good enough and having that desire to play for QPR.”

There is nothing to stop them training with the first team though. If that's the case, surely it makes sense to get him out on loan? Masterson really has no first team game time under his belt at all. He's made the subs bench for Liverpool a couple of times, aside from that U21 for Ireland is the highest level he's played at!

At the moment he is learning the MW way of playing, something all the others did with other managers we have had. Maybe next season he could get a short loan to bridge the gap between U23's football and Championship football. There would be nothing worse than him being given a chance in our first team and not being ready yet and then to feel all the opprobrium our fans are capable of dishing out when things don't go their way.

Particularly as a central defender, it would be very foolish to risk putting him out there too early!

Didn't go today but my brother said he looked pretty solid. What's the score with him? Is he not allowed to play league games? Surely he's worth bringing in while Leistner and Hall recover?

Did what he had to do and did it well. Helped playing next to Cameron who took charge and organised us at the back. Good debut and hopefully he carries it onto his next game.

The plan is that he is going out on loan, I read somewhere. Warburton could have changed his mind with regards to that today....
