Played in areas when he could and was decisive in areas that were not great. Some of our more experienced guys could pick things up from the lad.

We've already sent a decent GK out, yeah lets be generous and let someone pick up a composed CB. After all, we're rock solid back there....
OK this wasn't a massive test but by all accounts he looked pretty decent.

Looks like a prospect with good potential.

thought he had a decent game. i kept getting him mixed up with wallace at the back though as wallace covered for him a lot. not to take anything away from masterson's showing though as this was his senior debut.
looks composed and good with the ball at his feet, he defo has a good chance of becoming a first teamer next season imo

OK this wasn't a massive test but by all accounts he looked pretty decent. counter argument is if he’s not going to play then he’s spent a season kicking his heels doing and learning nothing. Surely in such scenario he’s better out developing same way Chair and Eze have plus Oteh is now do he comeback better and battle ready for next season

Unless there's a reason why he hasn't made a league appearance yet, give him a shot v Brentford if Leistner isn't fit. Gives us another defensive option, and if he plays well, begs the question why he wasn't played before.

Cameron had an excellent game today ,easing things for Masterton , but he rarely put a foot wrong ,we looked pretty solid against a Swansea team who ,especially in the first half were slotting the ball about well

Either would have left one on him early doors. Brentford not Arsenal though, I think he'd be fine.

Do not get ahead of ourselves with Masterson play him in the next round around experienced heads to bring him on. What is it with our fanbase 1 half decent game and the player is the next big thing.

Chuffed to bits for Scowen yesterday, played really well and scored a worldy to shove it back down their throats.

Never been a huge fan of Scowen's but credit where it is due yesterday thought his all round display was good and capped it with a great goal. Do not do that twitter shit myself so really do not see the value in giving a player shit on it.

It looks as though he has been struggling with the new system but it would appear, after yesterday, that he is getting to grips with it now.

Watch the post-match interview with Lee Wallace if some haven't yet seen it. Excellent interview in which he touches on Masterson's qualities too.

Don't get all this holding back players if your good enough u should be playing . Masterson would of been coached since he was 10 so will be famalier in his role , positional play , tackling heading , when to drop off when to committ , blah blah blah if hes good enough play him

I`m with Warburton on this one. Imagine all the critism he and the player would get if Masterson after all didn`t prove himself good enough?

I don't think he'll be picked but I reckon Masterson would do OK with Wallace and Cameron alongside. Certainly preferable to risking BFG or Hall and losing them for a long period.

Don't loan him out, get some competition going for places. When they are all fit it's 2 from 3 for CB, 4 if you include Cameron. Hall didn't look fit today, who knows when Barbet will be back, BFG clearly missed but Masterson looked quite comfortable and one header in particular when he made sure he got in front of his attacker showed he's got some balls. Give him a chance - here, and this season. Can't be worse and could well turn out to be much better.

He was bench for Liverpool in the champions league QF. Liverpool sent him down here to get some playing time. Not quite good enough for Warburton apparently. Along with Senny.

Liverpool released him Hal. He moved to us on a free transfer. Not even sure the lad kicked a ball for Liverpool. Good prospect, but I understand why the manager is easing him in slowly. He's had very little first team experience, and as proved again today with Lumley removing himself from social media, our fans have a habit of getting on players backs.

I'd rather have the BFG / Masterson partnership than any of the other plums we've had at the back all season.
On that note, I'd have me at RB than Kane...what a fucking prick...Chelsea reject galore
