Rangel is still our best option there in my opinion. I get the impression he's only got enough left in the tank to play once a week maximum though. I'd say Kane is well ahead of him now. In fact Geoff Cameron is ahead of him at RB too IMO. Disagree mate. Rangel is still our best option there when fit. He's by far the most rounded right back in the squad at present, even if his legs are starting to go a bit!

Does anyone else think Kane always looks ill? HE has a zombie pallor about him. Disturbs me! Performance-wise, he did well yesterday.

MW wanted to send him out on loan and I believe it was Chris Ramsey and his staff that said no he won't go out on loan & is ready for our first team. Fair play to them for digging their heels in. Interesting and good to hear.

I wouldn't have taken any forcing and even shit money is great money.

No doubt he is a very good prospect, but we must take it slowly and avoid running away with comparisons to previous greats, he has after all only played a couple of games for us.

Thought Masterson was quality on Saturday, certainly proof that age don't matter if you have the ability.
As for Kane, still not a RB for me...far better as a midfielder.

If only we had a full back that could do both!

Two good performances in a week (one with very little protection yesterday) gives me hope he can develop though.

Bit surprising Masterson is not getting plenty of game time as there is nothing to gained from playing Cameron in his place.
MW likes to talk up how difficult this league is for youngsters but Masterson has already shown he is more than capable of nailing down a starting spot for next season.

I actually think it wasn't a bad idea to give Masterson a rest. Couple of bad performances. He's a young lad, no harm in taking him out of the limelight when his form ain't great. The amount decent prospects we've damaged over the years here by doing exactly the opposite.

Masterson did let Barnsley scorer get in on goal a little easy along with Barbet but thought he played very well against charlton making a number of important interceptions.
With the rest of the games this season irrelevant it may be prudent to find out if Masterson is capable of making the shirt his.
MW likes to spout the most obvious statements each time we play poorly...missed chances, keep giving away soft goals and now starting slowly but appears not to have learned nothing this year.
I’m Certain playing Cameron at CB now is not going to be of any benefit to us next year

tricky one as kakay has done surprisingly well since he's come in at CB imo. good on the ball and a strong lad despite his size so would be unfair to drop him. i wouldn't like to see a back 3 of barbet, masterson and kakay as there's too much inexperience there

As much as I think his ability to perform at this level these days is questionable. When Cameron and Rangel both don't play we do look a bit devoid of leaders out there. That's been apparent for a few seasons. The only genuine leader we have is on loan in Germany (and with hindsight, what a daft decision that was).

Cameron brings experience I agree, then play him where he was purchased to play or don’t play him...don’t get why he got new contract either.
MW needs to stop doing the same things and expect a different outcome or else he won’t last long.

Don’t get me wrong I do like MW and hope he can take stock of his failings this year and learn from his mistakes. MW would probably make a better fist of being a DOF than managing us right now.

Cameron is a liability at the back full stop.
Anyone see him go arse over tit at Wigan tripping over his own feet trying to clear the ball ? Got out of jail only because Kakay's defensive awareness is sharp.
I'd play Masterson over Cameron at the back for all remaining games.

We should give the young lads lots of playing time now. Masterson, Bettache, Gubbins, Shodipo, Kakay...see if they can add something next year or go on loan.

As the season is effectively over, it makes perfect sense, particularly with no crowds to get on their back should it go badly. But just be honest about what you are doing and stand by it. No need to hide behind the usual lame excuses we always seem to make for cup games etc., as we aren’t trying to affect the attendance.

What is the difference in prize money for dropping places in championship? Would guess this will be of consideration to club in current climate

There is no cash incentive paid to clubs in championship based on position.

Never deserved to be lose his place IMO. Better player than Barbet overall and makes less mistakes. Could form a great partnership with Dickie. If you're good enough you're old enough.

Is it that important that Masterson is right footed and could be expected to play on the left side ?
Would also do a do a better job than Cameron if played in front of the defence.

Yes important, not ideal but he's played it before. No, we must stop playing people in the wrong place. If we had to improvise then strangely I'd go for Barbet as he can at least pass a ball. We've got enough midfielders not to have to.

Are people seriously championing a back five of
Dieng no experience Kakay next to no experience Masterson no experience Dikies next to no experience Hammer the fin no experience
Would get ripped apart and the manager would get the blame for not putting a defence together.
We have actually defended reasonably well this season the problem is scoring
