Hayden looks to be a defensive utility player that has suffered for a season or so with knee injuries, might be decent back up at RB right now.

Hayden is an upgrade on Dozzell and with Colback and Field having a yellow card competition, he's probably needed.

Normally really struggle to listen to player interviews but he could actually string a few words together and liked his focus on leadership, everyone taking responsibility etc.

A real presence in midfield and put a couple of really tough tackles in.

Been impressed with this guy. Bar one bad game think he has been one of the reasons for our uplift in form.
Good character too - judging by his post match celebrations he doesn’t feel like he is just passing thru. What a contrast with a certain other Newcastle midfielder we took on loan.
What do you think our chances are of getting him in the close season? Obvs such deals don’t always work as we found with Stef. But for me he has both steel and moves it forward
