Reports today that he is in negotiation with Newcastle to end his contract then becomes a free agent.
He hints in that very good post that he would be open to a return but it has a valedictory ring to me - like he knows it’s more likely he will be elsewhere (and given the wage issue I guess that is likely).

On one hand I agree as he’s not only a good player in this league but seems exactly the right personality. But my concern is his wage demands and his injury record. Hes also someone we won’t be able to get money on later. Maybe save for younger players?I would sign him in a heartbeat. We need experienced players too as well as youth, and he has that in spades. Just get the blend right.

We should try to get him, but I just wonder how he would cope physically playing every game because If his wages would be relatively high we need to get 90 minutes out of him every week.

If affordable, I’d defo try and keep.
Seems not to be a regular starter under MC but I do think he’s a good player.

A yes for me. Looks to get on the ball whenever he can and good technical ability. I liked the look of him. As long as wages are ok let's do it!

Hi, a definite for me, if we could. A good player and puts a shift in. He seemed genuinely passionate about the club when he was here. Like most, I’m excited about the coming season, but just waiting for the that crushing disappointment that normally lurks around a QPR fans corner. Here’s hoping.

if wages are a non issue then absolutely. only 29 and has years of premier league experience behind him. IF against the odds we were somehow promoted within the next 2 years he's the kind of guy you'd want in your team to keep it steady and to lend his experience.

May well justify his high-end wages by making him captain. After all, that is what they did for Begovic.

Somebody said he is liking virtually every post on the clubs social media channels.
Guess his agent trying to get the max.
But as Westy said on Willock hope the club are putting a firm deadline on this.

They are both great players but I stringly believe in our new set up. If they dont sign we will find others.

Lorent Talla, a 19-year-old Kosovar midfielder from QPR, could be the youngster who would arrive on loan with an option to buy Quote TOP🔥INFOSPORTING @topinfo62693015 · 7h VARANE🤝QPR Agreement between the French midfielder and the award-winning London club for an amount of around one and a half million euros plus the loan of a young under-21 player from the Albion team. All that remains is to document the transfer, it will be official this week So Varane in - Talla Out Got so intrigued by Sinclair deal that missed this post … Varane in next week. Plays the Hayden role , younger / cheaper if you look at the complete deal , highly regarded and will have sell on value if performs. Big news and another position we can tick off the needed box! I still think Hayden could happen. The way we do business has changed so much. Hayden thought he could be paid off by Newcastle and walk into QPR on a free. Not surprisingly, Newcastle may not have liked that scenario. They want more from the deal, be it a transfer fee, or for Hayden to reduce his demands. But they need him gone. They cannot fit him into the squad, and so it is a waiting game. If Hayden knows there is a contract waiting at QPR, and he resists other moves, Newcastle will have to back down. But it may be late August before they do. Nourry smart enough to not panic and wait. If we have more money from Eze, then perhaps we will be more giving, but otherwise, play the long game.

by all accounts varane is very highly rated so it is a step in the right direction. seems like a replacement for hayden and someone to fit into our team seemlessly and tbh i'd rather bring in a young player with potential than hayden who while good has had his injury issues and likely high wage demands. club must have seen something very good in varane as he's turning out to be the story of the summer as we just won't give up on him lol. one thing i have read about gijon is that they love their big sell on fees so we have to bare that in mind. Given that Hayden is apparently liking so much of our media content he presumably thinks a deal is possible. But it does seem like one of those wage stand offs: his agent pushing for more elsewhere perhaps with a view to coming to us late in window if no other deal emerges. Problem then is he misses pre season. Re a sell on clause, arguably if it allows us to buy a player we otherwise couldn’t afford, why not? If we buy for a million and sell for 10 million, even with a 25% sell on clause, that’s still a 6.5m profit. All conjecture on my part we'll only know if hayden is moving here if his wife starts following us 😃. no issue really with the sell on fee but it would sting if say we get £10m for varane but 4 or 5 mil of that goes to gijon.

Cannot see Isaac coming at all It would be done by now if he was coming Prob wages too much Shame perfect for us Yes, he was a massive part of our revival last season. Positive, articulate player who carried that onto the pitch. If it does still come off likely to be one of those five minutes to midnight on transfer deadline day, possibly another loan - Newcastle understandably reluctant to buy up his entire contract so hoping someone with money will come in for him most likely. If no one does come in for him, are they going to want to pay him to sit in their reserves for a year?

Hayden offers no resale value, high wages and so doesn't suit the way the club are currently operating. If we are short at the last minute and Newcastle subsidise the majority of the wages then it might be the option at that point.

If we are short at the last minute and Newcastle subsidise the majority of the wages then it might be the option at that point. But we do need the odd player that’s an investment for success not resale. Cook and Hayden wouldn’t be excessive but if it does come down to wages over to you Isaac.
