www.qpr.co.uk/news/club-news/yoann-barbet-signs-for-qpr/================== By David McIntyre 18/06/2019 QPR are set to sign out-of-contract Brentford defender Yoann Barbet. The Frenchman, 26, is primarily a central defender but can also play at left-back. He spent three years with the Bees, making 107 league appearances. He was among several players who recently left Brentford following the end of their contracts at Griffin Park. www.westlondonsport.com/brentford/barbet-set-for-move-to-qpr================== Defender in London ahead of reported QPR move, subject to medical – Three-year dealBy Tom Coast - 18th June 2019 Having run down his contract at Brentford, Yoann Barbet is now free to sign with any club, and the 26-year-old isn’t expected to be going too far, according to reports in France. According to Nando Chachalana, who is well respected in the Girondins de Bordeaux sphere, the centre-back is currently in London ahead of putting pen to paper on a three-year deal with Queens Park Rangers. Should everything go to plan with the medical, the 26-year-old will then continue his career in the Championship with QPR, who finished the 2018-19 campaign in 19th, eight places behind Brentford. The player, who was a youth player at Bordeaux, signed for the Bees from Niort back in 2015, and made 118 appearances in four years, scoring seven goals and picking up four assists. Barbet was very open about his decision to leave Brentford, telling football.london he was the one who turned down the chance of renewing his contract, ‘wanting to try something new’. It appears it will be Queens Park Rangers and Mark Warburton who will reap the benefits next season. sportwitness.co.uk/defender-london-ahead-reported-qpr-move-subject-medical-three-year-deal/

Building from the back, lovely stuff. Next up, followed by a cm and a striker or two please.
Happy with this signing. That's center backs, left backs and keeper positions covered.

Says in his interview Warburton was the key factor in his decision to sign. Good to hear how much pulling power our new manager has; we'll certainly need it with the small budget.
Also said his preferred position is CB. Not keen on LB but can do a job there if needed.

Decent signing.
Also very nice to see us going about our business quietly. First I'd heard of this signing was a couple of hours before it was announced on the official. Perhaps we are finally learning from the mistakes of the past!

Seen him described as bit on the slow side but a very good reader of the game.

Seen him described as bit on the slow side but a very good reader of the game. seen that too but he's still a great CB at this level and in his prime too. really pleased with this signing though, exactly what we needed and better than i expected!

Seen him described as bit on the slow side but a very good reader of the game. They said the same about Martin Buchan 😎 Summer Transfers 2019 IN Liam Kelly, Lee Wallace, Yoann Barbet. OUT Alex Baptiste, Jake Bidwell, Joel Lynch, Pawel Wszolek, Jordan Cousins. Beginning to take shape nicely.

Hi friendly Bee here. Yoann is a good steady player at either centre back or left back. Has a good left foot and takes a decent free kick. Don't let him near a pen though as he cleared the ground last one he took for us. A good club man with a good rapport with the fans. Positional sense not great but does a wicked long distance slide tackle to recover. Not the fastest and can sometimes get caught ball watching. At left back I'd prefer Bidders but a more than decent left sided centre back in either a 4 or 3 at the back. We have 2 or 3 bright prospects at centre back in the b team hence Yoann's contract was not renewed. Also think he wanted guaranteed starts at centre back whereas he played most at left back for us

That could not be said of some other players that were running down their contracts and were just not selected in the end because of it.

Think him and Leistner could be a very decent partnership. Furlong and Wallace will probably be the fullbacks with Rangel backup. Hope Manning gets a chance to impress at lb as well.

Cannot play 2 centre halves with him as one of them. Was bullied on Saturday by Garner and his tracking for the 2nd goal last night sums him up so far. Easy on the eye as a ball player but a woeful defensive defender.

I don’t mean to dig just one player out but he really is a very poor defender. Just before their 2nd he dangles a leg at a cross, 2nd goal a casual trot in to the box in the middle of two strikers. Sense of what’s round him isn’t there. Same could be said when they could have got a 3rd.
bad night at the office, think a 1-1 draw away Saturday, but I just can’t like this bloke.
