I think we are a bit harsh on Barbet @ Co now. Let the different constellations get used to each other before we judge them too hard. I would agree with you ,but that secound goal was just plain lazy from Barbet ,and there is no excuse for that.I agree, his awareness let him down there. And make no mistake about it: he has learn from this....

I'd agree that Barbet (and any other player at CB) is clearly not getting enough protection from the CDM(s) but I'm still sticking to Barbet being poor and will cost us goals this season.

I have watched the goals again a couple of times and Barbet is clearly unaware of Harness cutting in from his right, it looks, from his glance back as the move is developing, as though he was waiting for Marquis to join the attack and possibly expected Manning to pick up Harness as he had been. I understand the desire to have a scapegoat for Wednesday night but BFG was much more to blame for our defeat than Barbet. Before I get jumped on, I will say that I think Barbet is a weak link and has cost us goals from the pre season onwards but The goals Wednesday were not down to him. Hopefully we will have Grant Hall back for Saturday because he, currently, is the best overall of our central defenders. If only we had had the clout to attract Semi Ajayi here in the summer break we may not be talking about how slow our CB's are. He was one of the best I saw last season and his game seems very suited to what MW wants from a central defender.

In light of his passing ability any chance he could do a job in front of back four as seems to dive in when in back four giving away pens ?

Interesting thought but he's here for his defending so shouldn't his decision making be something for the training ground?

Jesus Christ what is it with QPR fans wanting to play CBs in defensive midfield. Why would you even bother when you have Dom, Cameron and Amos who would all be better then him in that position.

Watch him for their second. Fucker needs shooting. Lazy wanker. Jesus. 😂😂😂 Lol. Guess he must have disappointed me then. Not that I can now remember. Football fans, eh? Talk about knee jerk. And disproportional punishment.

Lost 3 times in the 16 matches he's played. Won 9 drawn 4. I am quite happy to admit that I thought he was a slow liability after seeing him in the pre season and the early games. Now I am happily chewing away on my best fedora. I suppose I didn't factor in at the start that it was a whole new style of play being introduced to a group of players that had never played together as a team before and what we actually saw was better than we should have expected despite the shoddy defending etc. Now? Vive La France!

He looked clumsy when he started but definitely turned it around and can see why BFG was sent packing.

Post from Manti, highlighting his strengths and weaknesses: Hi friendly Bee here. Yoann is a good steady player at either centre back or left back. Has a good left foot and takes a decent free kick. Don't let him near a pen though as he cleared the ground last one he took for us. A good club man with a good rapport with the fans. Positional sense not great but does a wicked long distance slide tackle to recover. Not the fastest and can sometimes get caught ball watching. At left back I'd prefer Bidders but a more than decent left sided centre back in either a 4 or 3 at the back. We have 2 or 3 bright prospects at centre back in the b team hence Yoann's contract was not renewed. Also think he wanted guaranteed starts at centre back whereas he played most at left back for us
