Don’t think we’ve lost since he’s come back believe of our 16 defeats in the league he’s only played in 3 of them

Looks much more composed since coming back. He's clearly been working on his defensive game, before the injury he was awful at that. Big improvement.

It is encouraging that we seem to have seen players improve significantly under Warbs - BOS Eze Barbet Ball Chair all come to mind

Definitely this season's surprise package. Masterson deserves a mention too, hasn't played so much but you can see it's there. I also think Geoff Cameron, whilst very experienced, has improved too.

Don’t think he’s ever been bad defensively. Dived in and gave away couple of pens that aside think he’s been very solid
He’s flaw is he dives in to win ball when there is no need

He has come back fresh after injury and done well but lets not expect too much. He is prone to a lunge and his positioning can be suspect. That's not gonna change. Good enough for us though.

Done well since he came back in and long may that continue. I agree with Brian in that his positional sense is not all that and he can be bullied by an imposing centre forward. Still not totally convinced but hope he proves me wrong.

He came on for the second half and we looked miles more solid at the back, one wonders what on earth took Warbs so long to include him.

For depth yeah. But I think as players our defence is good enough. Its the coaching that needs to improve. I do like 4 of the back 5 now. Barbet still makes me nervous though at times. Prefer Masterson and would be against him being loaned.

Apparently he's comfortable playing there.

Wallace has been very good there last couple of games; so much better than Manning. We're getting the player we signed now. He gets up and down the wing too where he interlinks well with the wingers. Experienced and a LB by trade, unlike Barbet, who redeemed himself with that killer pass right at the death but during the game his distribution is still hit and miss. I don't have the stats to hand but I'm sure Masterson makes fewer unforced errors and is also comfortable on the ball.

Do not rate him yes he can pass but as a defender he is two bob too easily outmuscled and would have Dickie and Masterson forming a partnership and now. Get the back settled and we are a team that should be looking at challenging the top 8 or so in what is a very open and average league.

I've been underwhelmed by Wallace so far this season. Was impressed with what I saw last season. This season I've seen a few things that concern me. Hopefully just a blip.

Had a few injuries these past few years so maybe it is a case of playing games to regain his fitness as he looked slow and old in the Coventry game.

Agree with most on assessment of Barbet..weak in physicality and tends to fall asleep at times.
I seen in the past bees fans commenting on Barbet at LB as a decent fill in option but not so sure he has the pace or stamina to play that position for us.
Masterson would be my choice to partner Dickie but it could be seen to be a inexperienced pairing by some.

I was big fan of Barbet when he came he was breath of fresh air after Lynch but he defo has weaknesses
I would not say it’s a physicality issue myself, I think it’s more the modern day footballer trying to be dramatic and con the Ref into winning a freekick instead of actually doing your job challenging for the ball and defending. The perfect example of this was the Coventry winner which instead of trying to put his head on it he jumped throwing arms to the side trying to win freekick
Cut that shit out and just defend correctly and he will be ten times the player he is but I’m afraid all over the pitch now players seem to think there actors trying con Ref

he's not bad but not great either. gets caught out sometimes but fits into our style well. i think him and dickie have a good chance of developing a strong partnership though

I watched Joe Garner bully him last season for Wigan and saw the same in the Coventry game. Too weak and that does not help those partnering him. If MW insists on playing him then llay him on the left side of a three with Dickie the guy that comes to win the first header and Masterton on the right.

He did play a lot of games at LB for the Bees whilst Rico Henry was out injured. He was never the dynamic fast over lapping type but was pretty sound. He got caught out of position quite a lot but generally redeemed himself with some fantastic sliding tackles which was certianly heart in mouth time if in the penalty area. We got well and truly stuffed by Preston on Sunday. Even at 2-0 up we looked much the worse side and the second half demonstrated that in full. Looks like you guys are putting together a pretty decent squad. Has Warbs got a plan b yet?

Always enjoy a Brentford loss but it also fucked my acca 🤣 Not seen any evidence of a plan B yet to be honest, but pretty happy with what he's done on a tight budget. A small minority will disagree.

It’s kinda difficult to pick up without being there but is anyone observant enough to notice who out of the back Three C/Bs is making the calls on pushing up or playing the line.

Never rated Barbet as a defender and clearly he is suited by the 3 at the back. Playing well in that system and happy that is the case as our team is now better for it.
