Worked in our favour for once as his replacement got the assist for our first goal 😄

anyone know how serious the injury is? can be useful coming on against tired defences imho. Kolli also has potential the other side

These injuries players get in the warm-ups. Find it so odd as the whole purpose of a warm-up is to PREVENT injury. Must've happened earlier in the week and only noticed it in the warmup. Unless he warms up like a maniac.

Needs to start the next game or two.
The only player that consistently runs at the position, puts balls in the box, and causes a bit of commotion. Willock way too relaxed for my liking at the moment.

If we play Smyth and Armstrong then Dykes, Willock and Chair need to be out of the team as we need to move the ball quickly and use their pace to our advantage. Our big problem is we play at such a slow tempo that defending against us is easy. Smyth needs to be un the 11 and we need to get the ball to him to give us a chance.

Armstrong one wing, Smyth the other, Frey up top and chair in the middle of the park replacing dykes in a free role.

Yea Smyth over Willock eveyr day for me atm (which a while ago I would have sectioned myself for saying!).

smyth gets slated but is one of the only players we have who puts a genuine shift in every game and he gets crosses into the box. football is a numbers game at the end of the day, beckham would look shit in the side if all his crosses were going to dykes.

on current showing very hard to keep faith with willock. but there is a danger in a really struggling team of saying “if only x player had started it would all be different”. But then that player comes in and proves no better. i basically agree as am losing patience with willock but also true that when Smyth starts games (as opposed to coming on as sub) he has often been anonymous. He was dropped for a reason

I think Willock needs to be dropped to allow him to recharge. On his game, he's arguably the best AM in this division, but yesterday he was, one good cross apart, a passenger.
With Field out for a couple of games it's possible that Smyth and EDB will start v Blackburn. Yesterday, they brought much-needed front foot energy into the game and turned the tide in our favour. Larkeche is also an option.

Just chatting with my work mate who is an orient fan. Said do you want Smyth back his response was you couldn’t pay us to take him. That kind of tells us what we need to know.
I’ve been calling him league 1 player but he actually came from league 2

Smyth has energy, is lively, puts in a shift and can makes things happen offensively. Good lad won't get pelters from me.

Good lad won't get pelters from me. if dykes missed those two chances yesterday you would be having a heart attack. What he made happen offensively?? he has one yes one assist all season as a creative winger. If you want energy you can pick 100 fans out crowd who will runaround doing fuck all for nothing. Yes perhaps don’t deserve pelters but equally he don’t deserve to be at the club. Way short of the required standard and if him and his ilk are here next season then prepare for a season akin to this one.

I've seen a video of his best chance. It was straight at keeper. Worst possible shot from that position.

2 bad misses for me. Not up to this standard but puts in a shift and is rapid. Good bench option.

Not only does he not score goals; he doesn't get on the end of chances in order to miss them. And his lack of effort and all round shittiness doesn't get him the pass I give the likes of Smyth. I want energy AND talent. And I value energy and effort. I wouldn't start him. But I'd have given him a game on the left to see what he can offer there. Willock is the required standard and some, but he too often hides. And disappears from games.

Biggest weapon off the bench haha jesus.
I like his attitude and application but his stats don't reflect success for the amount of games he's played.

one assist in 43 games (22 starts) for an AMF / winger does not make him a weapon.
Granted, we've been piss poor up top for far far too long which I guess mitigates a little bit.
Passing, crossing and timing would all come in handy.

Passing, crossing and timing would all come in handy. See we have been linked with a winger already. Not convinced he will be part of Marti's plans unless we lose both Willock and Chair and we become very short of bodies.

He is one I would ideally keep, but he has to keep his cool in front of goal. keep him to contribute what? Like you should know now , It`s all about opinions, West Acton. Imo, he is good at pressing high. He is mostly fit, delivers some good crosses and supports his full back quite well. One the other hand, his flaws should be well documented by now. Imo.

I agree with Shania here. Seen him put some great crosses in over the course of the whole season but the majority of them had no one on the end of them. Strikers were shite. Admittedly though he had some shocking misses and should have scored more than he did. I'd keep him, in the hope that we get a couple of decent strikers in that can actually get on the end of any balls he puts in the box.

I'd keep him as a back up but shouldn't be starting. I presume he is on low wages as well.
