Why can’t the cunt do that for us? Is he Dykes without the tattoos?

If you play him plus a right back that means one up front or one less in midfield. It might be the way to go but not convinced he is worth building a team round personally

Free role player who can take over from Chair when he leaves in January ? Nah, can’t see him as that Mush. He’s a heads down player not a heads up. Mind you, Chair not getting his head up often enough is one of his limitations.

Get what you say though....spent most of his career running at defenders.

That's a hell of a finish. Well done to him. Of all the players we signed I really want Smyth to step up and do well. No shortage of energy and endeavour, just lacks that something special for us. Ainsworth playing him out of position constantly doesn't help.

I went to see England play away to San Marino in 2015 and until you visit the 'Stadio Olympico' you never quite grasp how amateur Sammarinese football is. The 'stadium' is no better than Tooting Bec and they really are a side who would struggle against teams in the Isthmian League upwards.
So although it is a well executed goal, some of the comments I've read on Twitter and other platforms alongside opinions that he is capable of doing the same in a Championship match seem very niave and rooted in hope that we may have someone who can get us out of the shit we're in if used correctly rather than reality, sadly.

Good points, but a finish like that should give him some confidence regardless of the opponents shouldn't it? That's the hope anyway.

Could give him confidence but he's unlikely to have that much space or the luxury of playing against defenders of that ilk.

Said this last week on another thread.
Cannon RB, Ozzy RW to deliver crosses and not have the responsibility last ditch defending and Smyth up front to try a new option.
Don’t expect our manager to use his brain and change things though unfortunately.

Don’t expect our manager to use his brain and change things though unfortunately. Well, by his own admission, he has done so already. After doing just about enough to stay up last season, and then working on the master plan over pre-season, we got tonked 4-0 by (as Gaz said, "Have we just played the Champions...?") Watford. After the next game, a 1-2 away win at Cardiff, he came out and claimed,"I listened [to the criticism about the Watford performance] and changed it [the whole QPR 'system']." Sounded complete bullshit to me, and Gaz desperately clinging to straws. Sadly, changing or not, it doesn't look as if Gaz has got what it takes - or if he has, he hasn't persuaded the squad to buy into it. Bring back Warbs as DoF and Eustace as coach - both available, with no severance deals to be struck, making Gaz's pay-off bearable.

In Northern Ireland is "Smyth" pronounced 'Smith' or 'Sm-eye-th'? I know Finney pronounces it the latter but most seem to pronounce it the former.
To be honest this question interests me more than the game tonight.

What's wrong with Smythe instead of Smith? Is Smythe criminal?

Scores a cracker for his international side and can't get in one of the worst sides in the division. Mad.

Whilst I’m not his biggest fan surely if your the club and your treating him your doing so to get him ready for our next game not so he’s ready for Monday for NI where he could play and damage it costing us.
I would be saying he’s not ready to return.

I would be saying he’s not ready to return. especially as NI can't qualify anyway and its hardly like he's a key player for them. we all know he's had injury problems in the past so why risk it further for a nothing game?

These injuries players get in the warm-ups. Find it so odd as the whole purpose of a warm-up is to PREVENT injury.
