The last page has taken a bit of a turn from my perspective of trying to get behind why QPR mobs didn't get on with each other. It appears that a lot were more interested in a scrap at a game (no judging from me here) and it didn't neccessarily have to be with QPR. I used to sit in Ellerslie Road back in the day and one of the fellers who sat by me always gave the impression that he had been involved in a few meet ups. One home game he wasn't there and the following game I asked where he had been, as he didn't miss games, and he said that he met up with a few different mobs from Arsenal, WHU, Chelsea and Millwall and they had taken transits across to East Anglia as Luton were playing either Ipswich or Norwich that day and they had planned to meet them when they stopped at a services and offer some retribution for the various MIG's attacks on scarfers and kids etc. at Kennilworth Road.

A lot of rangers went chelsea if we had a shit game-always see people you knew A lot of Chelsea hung around QPR too. It's why I always did, and still do, cringe a bit when we try to pretend there was a rivalry there. You had whole families sitting together when we played each other with split loyalties. Yes, I remember we were at some bleak northern fixture one week and we decided to head down to Chelsea V Leeds which was a very lively day. After the game we bumped into a Chelsea mob who were mainly from Mitcham and the surrounding area. My mate was from there and knew most of them but there was no animosity. They just asked who we were playing then moved on to telling us how they were just looking to pick off any Leeds stragglers who had decided to drive down.

what was guesting for other clubs like? was there lively banter between allied fans?
i've been to other teams matches with friends and acted like any other supporter by cheering goals etc, was it the same for guest hooligans at games?

Hooligans are scum of the earth. Should have been strangled at birth. They have no place in civilised society. There are no arguments for deciding to hurt people because you can. One thing I don't understand is why they just didn't kill each other. Defeats the effort involved.

That's the international break and a crate of beer for you! So people that fight others who are up for a fight and meet up knowing that they'll have a fight, are scum. But after a few beers it is okay to say that they should be killed as a child. Makes sense.

No one here is scum. People just have different interests. Starting a thread like this is inevitably going to bring out these kind of reactions, as it’s always going to be a controversial subject. I know that wasn’t Esox’s intention, nevertheless it was to be expected. 99% of the time everyone here gets on famously, so better to focus on such positives.

Had my scarf nicked by an Arsenal fan in 1978. Sharpened ten pence pieces thrown at Leicester in 1979. And full pints of beer thrown at me at Wolves in 1981. Used to buy a seat when WHU, Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal used to take the old Loft back in the day. Tough, me.

Would not of happened under a cricketer government. Mate that scarf would be safe still on your coat stand this day! Admitted the grave yards would be pretty full though.

I witnessed a couple of incidents on innocent fans that put me off going to away games for years. All this talk you hear of never going after 'scarfers' is bollox. But I must admit, always find the topic interesting

Personally I always thought teams like boro Forrest Swindon soton were more mad than man Utd. Yes always off with Utd but not on scale of others. Forest had one of the biggest mobs I ever saw in the loft end one season. The OB decanted them back into the school end but they were marched past us in the paddocks. Yeah Forest. In my heyday (70s) WHU enjoyed themselves and that was before the ICF days. Portsmouth always had a few... I was Grove / NHG, but in the early 70s it wasn't so factional, if you were QPR you were QPR. Completely agree with Vesps - there were always plenty of brothers on the scene pre 1980s, I remember black skins way back in the day. I also remember a fair bit of spliff doing the rounds at LR, always a grove mainstay There was a definite edge back then and you had to stay on your toes but even more interesting than the bad lad thing was the weird cast of eccentrics pretty much all over the place. There was a great thread on these characters on WATRB which inevitably got deleted. For me it was way better then, the thing that killed it was seating. Terrace surges were a massive rush. The Germans have sussed it, they redesigned the terraces, places like Union Berlin and Dresden put us to shame. You can have safe standing, I've no idea why its taking so long to re-introduce it over here.

As cricketer is our future prime minister,I think he needs to bring safe standing back on the seats cause obesity.

There were rules that shouldn't be broken , that's why teams like Cardiff are hated I've seen them attack families with young children

There were rules that shouldn't be broken , that's why teams like Cardiff are hated I've seen them attack families with young children Funnily enough I was going to mention that myself. There was one night game where Cardiff came down in numbers and after the game on the way back to White City they broke away from the police and we're indiscriminately hitting anyone. Completely out of order that. It stuck in my memory that night.

I seen something on the net a few years ago about london skins(havent been able to find it since) and a few of them from different areas said they didnt like the LGS because they had blacks in their firm. At that time the LGS were one of the maddest lot around along with the nutty farmers also in notting hill...well known all over london. Mick c was only one of a few black skinheads with them...mad lad. I remember west ham, chelsea, millwall even charlton selling the NF paper in the early 80's(never at ours!!) when that fashion and thought had long gone and the soul, gabbici mood had come about. Ive met people over the years in the know who have said the notting hill lot were one of the first and best dressed lot in those early soul days but they loved to upset everyone😎 including local manors. And sorry to the cricket guy..hope he's ok now.

Hitting or attacking random peope wasnt the agenda ever at rangers unlike some clubs that are well known. I seen a good mob of us heading to meet bristol city playing fulham and some div hit a scarf/kit wearing fan and everyone turned on him!! Under the hammersmith underpass. Believe it or not there was a way of playing in the right way and at ours we did.

My only claim to fame was launching a flare at newcastle fans that reached the upper loft.
also, spent a few 50ps against palace on the last game of the season when we ran onto the pitch.

Mick was a good mate of mine he died of cancer a couple of years ago in Southampton ...LGS didn't get on with east London skins and attacked them at the acklam hall at a' last resort ' gig ... We were mates with both sides so didn't go to the gig as .it would have been awkward . Lee Daly had a site London skinheads late 70s early 80s but finished up moving if to Facebook so I jacked it in . Got into loads of arguments on their as they don't like QpR and despised Chris H

I'm talking about Chris Harwood not Chris Henderson..it was odd that Henderson changed teams at his age , I knew him in his teens he wasn't a bad fella couldn't punch his way out of a paper bag.
